Any individual recovering from surgery, injury, or illness needs a tailormade rehab plan to achieve the best possible outcome. Green Meadows offers a wide variety of therapy modalities which allow us to effectively and efficiently get your loved one back home safely. Our primary goal is to relieve pain, restore maximum function, improve mobility, and prevent or limit physical and cognitive disabilities.
All of Green Meadows therapies are available on an outpatient basis. Patients can stay at home and receive their treatment at Green Meadows during the day. This can be a good option for individuals who are able to maintain most daily functions on their own but need some rehab in certain areas.
Our physical therapy program is led by state-licensed physical therapists. Physical therapy focuses on restoring strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, respiration, and motor functions. Every resident receives a customized care plan, and their progress is documented closely allowing our therapists to accurately assess their ability to return home. Physical therapy is a valuable service for individuals recovering from:
- Fractured hips and other bones
- Joint pain
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Alzheimer’s Disease
- Multiple Sclerosis
- And many other conditions
Education is just as important as the physical therapy. Residents learn how to use adaptive devices and exercises they can do at home. Teaching safety and awareness strategies help prevent future injuries as well.
Occupational therapy is designed to help individuals achieve function, meaning, and satisfaction in all aspects of everyday living. Residents participating in Green Meadows occupational therapy will learn how to successfully navigate everyday tasks like getting dressed, bathing, feeding, home management, and participating in social settings. Occupational therapy creates a holistic plan by assessing residents’:
- Physical condition
- Cognitive condition
- Psychosocial condition
- Sensory condition
After a thorough assessment is complete, our occupational therapists create a custom care plan based on specific conditions and goals. The aim is to develop long term strategies to maintain and improve safety and wellbeing. An important part of the program is helping residents with transitions and change.
Green Meadows speech therapists work with our medical staff to develop individualized care plans customized to each resident’s unique needs. Residents may need speech pathology as a result of:
- Brain injury
- Progressive diseases
Speech therapists duties include assisting with speech articulation and fluency. If cognitive-communication impairment is present therapists treat attention and memory deficits, abstract reasoning, and problem-solving deficits.
Restorative Nursing Program
Restorative nursing is focused on helping residents live as independently as possible with positive psychological and physical well being. Our certified restorative nursing assistant helps residents maintain current and gained functionality and gives them the tools necessary to prevent a future decline. The primary aim of restorative nursing is getting residents to perform at their highest level possible and maintain it for as long as possible.
